You spend days planning your marketing campaign and found the perfect audience online. You launch it and the results are disappointing. Your ideal prospects are just not taking up your offer.
Now this applies to whatever you are trying to market (physical products, digital products, courses, software, coaching etc…)
What if you could reverse the process and find out what your prospects want before even planning out your offer?
Lets just imagine you have created an incredible system to help alcoholics recover with a 0.001% chance of falling back into this addiction.
You create a landing page with survey options that ask open ended questions. You want as much info as possible from the person participating. Of course you need to incentivise the participant with a gift of some sort(pdf file or a snippet of your system).
You can either launch a paid campaign like Facebook Ads or you can rally your friends/contacts/Facebook support groups to help you share this survey page.
Note: You should install a Facebook Pixel on this page so you can retarget the participants later on(low hanging fruit). Plus collect their emails and inform them that you will update them with this awesome system and they will enjoy an early bird discount.
Collect 100 or so results and study them. You’d be surprised what you can uncover.
Initially if you didn’t go through this process, you’d probably just launch your offer(this alcoholism recovery system) and target people likely to be alcoholics right?
But the survey results actually show that majority of alcoholics wouldn’t sign up for your system voluntarily.
Instead you discovered that most respondents of your survey were close friends and family of alcoholics. They were interested in your system and even suggested ways you could tweak your product to ease the alcoholics into accepting help.
With this valuable information, you can structure your product offer to suit their demands and you’d be targeting the right audience.
Don’t leave your success to chance when some variables can be controlled and predicted.
